BSC Policy – COVID-19

A new strain of coronavirus is causing a respiratory disease called COVID-19 causing health and economic issues.

To support our customers and workers BSC or BCert has prepared the following to respond to the COVID-19 crisis and will maintain your certification or issue new certifications throughout this crisis.

If any audit is scheduled for a site visit, the customer shall inform BSC or BCert  if any of its workers who are participating in the audit have travelled overseas in the past 14 days prior to the date of the audit or has been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

BSC or BCert will not send any of its BCert workers who have travelled overseas in the past 14 days prior to the date of the audit/meeting or have had any contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

BSC or BCert is now self-declared and accredited in IAF-MD4:2018 requirements for the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for auditing/assessment purposes enabling us to carry out remote auditing either fully or partially.

BSC or BC customer officers will be contacting you when the audits are due to select a method of auditing and maintain your certification or conduct initial certification. BSC or BCert  will assess every customer new or existing whether there is a possibility to carry out the audits remotely.

If BSC or BCert is visiting your site for auditing BSC or BCert  will fully adhere to the protective requirements as per the national or international guidelines.

Assessments Create Confidence
Management systems are a tool that top management applies to achieve results in a complex environment. They provide the framework to establish, maintain and continuously improve the organisation´s performance. Furthermore by supplying evidence of an effective management system, organisations earn their stakeholder´s trust. An audit and subsequent certification by BCert provides such evidence. An organisation can thus demonstrate in-house and to third parties, that a management system has been implemented, based on a recognized standard, and assessed by an independent third party.
Additionally, audits by BCert are more than just a formal inspection of conformance to standards. Rather, they focus on providing independent and competent feedback, as well as identifying risks and improvement potential. Employees are involved and motivated, thus promoting commitment and confidence.
